At 5th level, a zen archer may spend 1 point from his ki pool as a swift action to change the damage dice of arrows he shoots to that of his unarmed strikes. This lasts until the start of his next turn. For example, a Medium zen archer’s short bow normally deals 1d6 damage; using this ability, his arrows deal 1d8 damage until the start of his next turn.
Perfect Strike (Ex)
At 1st level, a zen archer gains Perfect Strike as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites. A zen archer can use Perfect Strike with any bow. At 10th level, the monk can roll his attack roll three times and take the highest result. If one of these rolls is a critical threat, the monk must choose one of his other two rolls to use as his confirmation roll.
Reflexive Shot (Ex)
At 9th level, a zen archer can make attacks of opportunity with arrows from his bow. The monk still threatens squares he could reach with unarmed strikes, and can still only make one attack of opportunity per round (unless he has Combat Reflexes).
The Lu-Wons traveled with the Amatatsu clan from Minkai years ago, but were separated during the troubles they had upon landing on the western shores of Avistan. Because the Luu-Wons are of a race not native to northern Varisia and the Land of the Linnorn Kings, they have had to survive using stealth and guile, something young Cheng never learned. He was captured by Cheliaxian slavers while out scouting as a young age, and served as an intriguing jester/acrobatic for an eccentric Cheliaxian noble housed in Korvosa.
When the noble travelled to other villas in Varisia, Cheng was confined to a closed cage, because his owner only wanted his friends to see the curiosity. One night, while he was peering out of a hole he bored into a nondescript portion of his cage, he spied a lovely elven woman making her way through the camp. It was Shalelu and she had heard about this curious monkey-man and the deplorable conditions he was kept in. She subdued his guards and rescued him from the cage.
He spent the next year or so hunting with her before parting ways, but longed to get back to his family up north. He joined Shalelu when she decided to follow Sandru north, hoping to link up with his family on the boarder, but when he discovered that two of the caravan members were members of the Amatatsu clan, he decided to stick around and see what may become of this adventure.
